RIDER GUIDE

NEW TO CYCLING JERSEYS?

Road cycling jerseys are designed to fit closer to the body than a regular T-shirt. A snug feel when standing can be normal, especially with a performance fit. The jersey should feel secure without restricting normal movement. If you prefer more room, consider sizing up and use chest measurement as your primary size guide.

YOUR FIRST RIDE

If you are new to road cycling, start with a short, easy ride on a familiar route. Around 20–30 minutes can be a practical starting point for many beginners. Focus on comfort, braking, shifting and pacing before gradually adding more time or distance.

WHAT'S IN YOUR POCKETS?

What you carry should match the length of the ride. Keep the essentials easy to reach, and avoid overloading your jersey pockets.

30 MIN — KEEP IT LIGHT

For a short, easy ride, keep your pockets simple and focus on getting comfortable on the bike.

  • Phone
  • ID / card
  • Keys
  • Water bottle on the bike as needed

2 HOURS — FUEL + ESSENTIALS

As the ride gets longer, bring enough fuel and essentials to stay comfortable without filling every pocket.

  • Phone + ID / card
  • Energy gel, banana or small energy bar
  • Electrolyte option if needed
  • Light wind layer depending on weather
  • Repair kit stored securely on the bike

100 KM — PLAN FOR THE DAY

Plan by expected riding time, not distance alone. Terrain, weather, fitness and stops can make a 100 km ride very different from one rider to another.

  • Easy-to-reach fuel for the next part of the ride
  • Phone + ID / card in a small protective pouch
  • Additional fuel for later
  • Electrolytes for long, hot or high-sweat rides if needed
  • Lightweight weather layer
  • Repair tools in a saddle bag or other secure bike storage

POCKET TIP: Keep the item you expect to use next in the easiest-to-reach pocket.

GOING LONGER?

Start conservatively, stay hydrated according to your needs, and fuel before your energy drops too far. On long, hot or high-sweat rides, an electrolyte drink or another sodium-containing option may also be useful for some riders. Test your routine during training rather than trying something new on an important ride.

FEELING FATIGUED OR CRAMPING?

Ease the pace and stop somewhere safe if needed. Muscle cramps can have more than one cause, and fatigue, heat, fluid or electrolyte loss, and unfamiliar effort may all play a role. Gentle stretching may help a cramped muscle. Build distance gradually, and if you feel unwell, stop the ride and prioritize safety.

RIDER Q&A

CAN WOMEN WEAR THIS UNISEX JERSEY?

Yes. This jersey uses a unisex performance fit. Use chest measurement as your primary size guide, and consider one size larger if you prefer a more relaxed feel.

WHY DOES A CYCLING JERSEY FEEL TIGHTER THAN A REGULAR SHIRT?

A road cycling jersey is designed to sit closer to the body so excess fabric stays controlled while riding. The fit often feels more natural once you lean forward into your riding position.

WHAT CAN I CARRY IN THE REAR POCKETS?

The three rear pockets are designed for lightweight ride essentials such as a phone, small snacks, cards, keys or compact items you want within easy reach.

DO I NEED A BASE LAYER UNDERNEATH?

A base layer is optional. Your choice can depend on temperature, riding intensity and personal comfort.

IS THIS JERSEY SUITABLE FOR LONGER RIDES?

It is designed for road cycling and training, including longer rides when the fit and riding conditions suit you. For longer sessions, plan your pacing, hydration and fuelling as part of the ride.

HOW QUICKLY DOES THIS JERSEY DRY AFTER GETTING WET?

In our fabric quick-dry test, water spread rapidly across the fabric surface and the tested area was almost dry within 1 minute 38 seconds. This helps reduce the heavy, damp feeling that can build up from sweat or light moisture during a ride.

WILL THE JERSEY CLING TO THE BODY IN RAIN OR HEAVY SWEAT?

The fabric is designed to move moisture across the surface and dry quickly, helping reduce a sticky, saturated feel. Airflow testing to ASTM D737 recorded 168 ft³/min/ft², supporting ventilation and riding comfort when heat and moisture build up.
