02 / CONSTRUCTION & MOVEMENT

CYCLING PAD TECHNOLOGY

Floating construction separates a soft base from a support insert. The insert is attached only at its ends without adhesive bonding between these two parts, leaving it partly free to move. The space between them is intended to support ventilation as the rider pedals.

Blade Sign uses three-dimensional cutting to bevel the foam, reducing excess material while retaining thickness in key support areas. Armadillo channels are shaped to accommodate twisting, bending, compression and extension during pedalling. These structures are designed to combine support with freedom of movement.

HT90 forms the side wings at a 90-degree angle to help the pad follow the body and cycling shorts. T-Mirror keeps the upper surface flat, with the support inserts extending in the opposite direction. TEOSPORT describes this arrangement as intended to support stability on the saddle.

03 / COMPONENT USE

THE PAD USED BY ARVENTO

ARVENTO uses the TEOSPORT Armadillo Floating cycling pad, code FL079.LGIS0-08, in its cycling bib shorts.

04 / MATERIALS

MATERIAL & CONSTRUCTION

The surface uses V-ESF PRO, short for Vertical Extra Soft Fabric Pro. Its vertical striped structure and micro-channels are described as supporting ventilation, drying and a soft feel against the skin.

The base includes a 4 mm foam layer. The support insert contains a 5 mm open-cell foam layer and a 10 mm reticulated open-cell foam layer, each listed at 80 kg/m³. TEOSPORT describes reticulated foam as having a more open, interconnected cell structure intended to encourage airflow and moisture release.

The construction comprises a base and an insert, with two foam layers within the insert. The listed layer thicknesses describe individual components, rather than a verified overall pad thickness.

05 / RIDING POSITION

DESIGNED FOR THE RIDING POSITION

The pad’s design addresses contact with the saddle and movement during pedalling. Bevelled foam, shaped wings and three-dimensional channels are intended to let the structure adapt while retaining support in key contact areas. The flat upper surface and underlying support inserts are described as contributing to saddle stability.

For road and gravel riding, the emphasis is on support, flexibility and ventilation through the pad’s construction. The document positions Armadillo Floating for medium and long rides.
